Dr Victoria Pastor-González

Professional Biography

Victoria Pastor-González is a Senior Lecturer in Spanish and Film with extensive experience in Higher Education. She also worked as a radio producer and broadcaster and held posts in academic management. Her research interests include Spanish and Latin American docudrama, representations of memory, trauma and political conflict in film, and multimodal pedagogies. She has published in the areas of fact-based drama, languages and employability, and curriculum design. Her current research focuses on contemporary female biopics, and the production and reception of transnational biopics. She is also conducting action research in the areas of visual literacy in Modern Languages, and the development of learner generated digital materials to encourage student engagement.

Research Interests

Research interest include docudrama in the Hispanic world and Europe, contemporary female biopics, multimodal pedagogies, the introduction of audio-visual material and learner generated digital material for language learning and teaching, and curriculum development and assessment strategies.

Teaching & Course Development

Dr Pastor-González has been involved in the design, development, and delivery of various modules in the areas of Modern Languages and Film Studies. She currently teaches modules in Advanced Business Spanish, Advanced Spanish through Film, World Cinemas, Authorship in Cinema and Film History. 

Dr Pastor-González has extensive experience of programme design and validation. She co-designed Regent’s University portfolio of Language electives and she is currently the Course Leader for the Modern Language elective modules.
