Terms & Conditions for Applying to Study Abroad

Terms & conditions for applying to study abroad as part of your degree:

  • I have fully researched my study abroad destination options using the resources provided and my own independent research
  • I am aware and understand that I may not be allocated my first choice of destination
  • I am aware and understand that the outcome of my application to go abroad and subsequent allocation will be subject to some or all of the following factors: included but not limited to - academic achievement prior to going abroad (applies to all programmes); number of available exchange spaces at the partner university; number of applications from Regent's students from other degree programmes; partner university academic requirements; you target language level (only for BA International Business).
  • I understand that if I fail core modules at Regent's prior to my term abroad, my allocation(s) may be subject to change, or my application to study abroad be rejected or postponed.
  • I have discussed my application and destination choices with my parents, guardian(s) or any other financial supporters and received no objections.
  • I understand that once I have been allocated a destination in year 1 term 2, I cannot change my choices or withdraw except in cases where i have valid extenuating circumstances for which I must provide proof.
  • I realise that if I do not submit this form by the deadline stated and later request to go abroad, I may not be able to be accommodated.
  • I understand that any partner institution may change their contract agreement (e.g. withdraw or reduce available spaces) at any time and that this may affect my allocations.
  • I will complete and submit all required documentation prior to and during study abroad (arrival and departure certificates, learning agreement, if applicable) by the deadlines stipulated by the Study Abroad & Exchange team (including completion of the online study abroad survey at the end of term) and understand that failure to comply may result in my host university transcript of records being withheld and a delay in progression.
  • As an Exchange student, I will continue to pay tuition fees to Regent’s University London and complete online enrolment for the duration of my term(s) abroad.
  • I understand that I am subject to both the partner institution’s and Regent’s University London's regulations whilst abroad, including full class attendance.
  • I will act to the standards expected of Regent's University London students abroad and be an ambassador for the University; where possible representing Regent's University London by participating in any activities and fairs your host university may arrange.
  • I will keep the Study Abroad & Exchange team informed of any changes to my personal email address and phone number and confirm I can be contacted via these methods.
  • I will attend all compulsory events/meetings as stipulated by the Study Abroad & Exchange team (such as the pre-departure session).
  • Upon my return, I will assist other Regent’s University London students preparing for their term abroad where possible, including allowing the Study Abroad & Exchange team to share my contact details with other students.
