Professional Biography

Dr Abdel Said is a  Lecturer in Finance at Regent's University London. He has taught undergraduate and postgraduate modules for almost six years. His specialisms cover aspects of Asset Pricing, Performance Metrics, Credit Risk Management, Private Equity, Real Estate and FinTech. Abdel's research interests include Asset Pricing, Portfolio Management, ESG Investing, and Financial Risk Management. 

Qualifications

Dr Abdel Said holds a degree in Economics, a Master's, and a PhD in Finance, and he is a Fellow member of the Higher Education Academy.

Research Interests

Dr Said's research interests lie primarily in empirical finance, focusing on asset pricing, portfolio management, risk management, and performance measurement. He is particularly interested in exploring how investment-style decisions made by managers influence the future performance of mutual funds. His current work is centred on developing and implementing advanced performance algorithms to evaluate mutual funds. This research also delves into various statistical issues related to performance, such as data mining and look-ahead bias, to provide a more nuanced understanding of mutual fund performance metrics.
