Dr Richard Sherry

Dr Richard Sherry has a focus on the assessment and clinical treatment of psychological trauma and stress related disorders. Areas including Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD); Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); Stress and Anxiety Disorders are expertly addressed (MAE 3707).  

Dr Sherry’s background and professional training is as a Consultant Chartered Clinical Psychologist, HCPC Reg., and BPS CPsychol, FBPsS. He is a Full Fellow of the British Psychological Society. He is a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist, BPS Full Mmeber of the Division of Neuropsychology (DoN). He is a fully registered BPC and UKCP Reg. Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist; APECS licensed Executive Coach and full BPS Divisional Coaching Psychologist. He is a BPS Psychological Test Registered User and Test Developer.  

He has an Organisational Consultancy Masters (MA). He is a full member for the BPS Division of Occupational Psychology (DOP). Dr Sherry is a specialist in psychological clinical traumatology (ESTSS Certificate and an EMDR Consultant) who works with individuals and organisations.

In 2023 Dr Sherry and Psychological Systems Ltd. won the Live Wire Innovation and Excellence Award for the Boutique Mental Health Clinic of the Year—UK.

• 2011-Present - Consultant Clinical Psychologist, outpatients practice, 62 Wimpole Street, (Now since 2017 in new larger offices at 139 Clapham Road), London, UK.
• 2008-2011 - Clinical Psychologist, outpatient psychology practice was based at 17 Wimpole Street.  
• 2005-2010 - Clinical Psychologist for in-patient and outpatient clients based at the Capio Nightingale working with a group of consultant psychiatrists.  External Head Clinical Psychologist for U.S. Military in-patients’ treatment and clinical psychologist for private clients.
• 2004-2006 - Psychologist for in-patient and outpatient clients based at the Priory Roehampton working with a consultant psychiatrist.  Working as the Coordinator for the National Service for Police Psychiatry—specialty in trauma work—for police, fire, and other services. Primary psychologist for the OFSTED teachers’ service. I continue to have current practicing privileges at the Priory.
