Professional Biography
Dr. Kara is the Founder and Managing Director of the Society 5.0 Institute, located in London. The institute operates with a motto of "Tech for Society, Tech for Sustainable Business" and provides consulting services and tech-based solutions for businesses to promote sustainability and resilience.
In addition to running the Society 5.0 Institute, Dr. Kara is the Head of Sustainable Business Management at Global Trading Agency.
Dr. Kara studied international political economy at the London School of Economics as a British Council Chevening Scholar. She then completed her PhD in the same field at Ankara University. After serving as a Senior Foreign Trade Expert in the Turkish Ministry of Economy for 12 years, she moved to the private sector, where she held senior managerial positions in Strategy and Business Development.
Dr. Kara established the Society 5.0 Institute in August 2017 with professionals specialising in digital transformation, futurism, the philosophy of science and emerging technologies. The team analyses best practices for smart society and produces policy recommendations. Dr. Kara has published a book and several articles on international trade and the Society 5.0 vision.
