Professional Biography

Since graduating from Central Saint Martins with a degree in fashion journalism, Julia has written widely about fashion, lifestyle and culture. Former staff roles include deputy fashion editor of The Daily Telegraph (15 years) and fashion editor of The Sunday Mirror (3 years); with a background on fashion magazines including British Vogue; Elle; Grazia and digital website Matches.com.

Robson wrote a column on international fashion for The National, the national newspaper of the United Arab Emirates, and is an Associate Lecturer at several universities including UAL, and an external examiner in Specialist Journalism at Cardiff Metropolitan. Fashion Communication projects include educational charity work (prisons) and consultancy for DeBeers diamonds; McArthur Glenn outlets; Next, M&S, Gap and Yahoo. Published fashion writing has appeared in international magazines and newspapers including The Financial Times; The Sunday Telegraph; The Daily Mail, British Airways First Life and Instyle. Most recently she has written on London fashion for Lonely Planet worldwide publications.

Julia Robson has been the Course Leader of MA International Fashion since 2020 and has taught as a Senior Lecturer at Regent's University London since 2016.
