Professional Biography
Katerina studied Social Policy (BA) and Political Science and Sociology (MA) at the National University of Athens in Greece. In Athens she worked closely with the scientific staff of the Greek Ombudsman at the Human Rights Department contributing to a thorough understanding of the applied Immigration Law. She also worked as a teacher of Greek language teaching Modern Greek language to immigrants from a broad range of ethnical, cultural and religious backgrounds.
Before moving to London, in 2013, Katerina was teaching essay writing to private students who was preparing for the national exams of entering into the Higher Education. In London Katerina studied for a second Master’s degree in International Relations and Democratic Politics at the University of Westminster. Her dissertation in the Rise of Nationalism and the link to ‘Homo Sacer’ – the archaic figure of Roman law – was awarded with distinction for originality and academic research and Katerina aspires to further work on this topic and study for a PhD.
Katerina’s interests include reading of poetry, literature, philosophy in different languages, among others. She also writes poetry and short stories. Her walks in nature she combines them with photography taking and constructive discussions with her friends. She is also passionate about cinema, theatre, music and discussions with multi-layered personalities.
