Lucy Shakespeare

Senior English Language Teacher

About me

My name is Lucy and I'm a Senior English Language Teacher at Regent's School of English. I teach groups and one-to-one classes of all levels in general English and for exam preparation. I really enjoy teaching at Regent's as the students come from all over the world with a diverse mix of nationalities, cultures and backgrounds. It's a great place to work with modern facilities and a beautiful campus set in Regent's park.

I started my teaching career working in universities in Vietnam and Malaysia. I then moved to the South of Italy where I completed my DELTA qualification and also trained to become a DELTA tutor. After spending eight years in Italy, I recently moved back to the UK. I have ten years’ experience in the EFL industry, as a teacher, teacher trainer, assistant director of studies and speaking examiner for Cambridge exams. I'm passionate about teaching and teacher training and I believe in empowering my students to become autonomous learners of English.

Outside of work, I love playing tennis, photography, painting (when I get time!) and travelling to new places both in the UK and beyond.
