About Maria
My name is Maria and I’m the Academic Manager at Regent’s School of English. I began my journey at Regent’s in 2020 as an English Language Teacher. Since then, my role has grown, now encompassing both teaching and academic management responsibilities. I enjoy working in a multilingual environment, helping students to improve their English skills so they can achieve their goals.
Over the course of my career, I have held various roles within English Language teaching as a teacher, lecturer, examiner and academic manager, in private schools and higher education institutions in the UK and abroad. I have also worked for London-based language service providers in operational roles handling translation, transcription, subtitling, and voice-over projects.
Growing up in a multilingual learning environment (e.g. studied German, Spanish, French, Turkish) I developed a love for languages that I pursued with further education studies. I have always been seeking a deeper understanding of how languages are learned and have wanted to apply this knowledge to actual teaching practice.
As for my hobbies, I recently joined a choir, I play the flute and I enjoy cycling around London.
