Overview

As Vice-Chancellor & CEO, Geoff is responsible for the long-term commercial and reputational growth of Regent’s University London – driven by rising enrolments and great graduate outcomes. 
 
With his executive team and leaders across the university, Geoff's reimagining higher education at Regent’s so that it’s fit for the times we’re in; a world of unbridled change, uncertainty and possibility.  
 
The framework for this is the  Regent’s Curriculum Model: students dive deep into their chosen subject, and they apply and reflect on their learning by doing. They learn how to innovate, work in teams, make better decisions, get things done. And they get to broaden their credentials through special electives in some of the most in-demand human skills and emerging technologies. 
 
Before joining Regent’s, Geoff was Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Falmouth University – responsible for expanding the university’s academic portfolio and developing a number of high-value, national and international partnerships. He also led the development of the university’s online brand, Falmouth Flexible.  
 
Prior to Falmouth, Geoff worked at Bath Spa University for over ten years – joining as a Senior Lecturer before becoming Head of Music in 2001. He then led the rapid growth of a new School of Music and Performing Arts which became a national Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning. He was awarded professorial title for ‘outstanding qualities of academic leadership’ and completed an MBA in HE Management at the University of London in 2006. 
 
Before joining Bath Spa, Geoff worked internationally as a freelance composer. After an early album on Kitchenware Records, he signed a recording contract with Sony Classical in the US and a publishing contract with EMI Worldwide. His first Sony album was produced by Steve Nye in New York; the second at AIR Studios in London. Faber & Faber published his book of interviews with American contemporary composers such as John Cage, Philip Glass, Laurie Anderson and Steve Reich (‘American Originals’). 
 
Geoff studied Music at the University of Nottingham, took an MPhil in Electronic Music from The Queen’s College, University of Oxford and completed a PhD in Composition at the University of Huddersfield.
