Professional Biography

Roxy is a scriptwriter, novelist, and alumni of the BBC Comedy Room. Her sitcom, The Home, was optioned by Hartswood Films and she has developed another sitcom and two shorts with Merman Films. Her pilot Useless Millennials was commissioned and broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and she has also been part of the writers’ room for the BBC Radio Wales topical comedy show, The Leak. Her plays In Tents and Purposes and You Only Live Forever received sell-out runs at Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh before transferring to SOHO Theatre. Roxy's debut novel, As Young as This (Penguin) was sold at auction and was a 'Best Book of 2024' in The Independent, Harper’s Bazaar, Stylist, Cosmopolitan, and Sunday Times Style. Her second novel, Wants and Needs (Penguin) is out in hardback Spring 2026.

Research Interests

Research Interests

Roxy has particular specialism and interest in the genre of naturalistic comedy drama. She has experience in writing both long form narrative, as well as short films and web series. She is also particularly interested in adapting novels for the screen.

Research Supervision

Roxy is able to supervise both short form and long form screenwriting projects - both original ideas and adaptations. Her specialism is in the genre of naturalistic comedy drama.
