Professional Biography

Steve joined Regent’s in September 2023 as Associate Provost, Quality and Education, leading Academic Services which includes the Registry (Quality Assurance and Student Records), Timetabling and Visa Compliance.

Steve has over 20 years’ experience of working in the Higher Education sector and has held a number of senior roles in a wide variety of HEIs, from Russell Group to Post-92.

His most recent role has been the Registrar for Anglia Ruskin University London, where he lead provision around students services, quality assurance and records and assessments. He led a number of institutional change programmes to great success including the introduction of a virtual ID card to replace the existing dual ID card system, as well as revamping the attendance system to an online check in on campus rather than a swipe card entry.  Both initiatives improved quality of life for the professional services staff and greatly enhanced the student experience.

In previous roles he worked as Deputy Director of Governance and Legal Services at St George's, dealing with several Council committees, and Governors. Prior to the role at St George's, Steve was Head of Quality Assurance at Brunel University, leading the service at an institutional level. He was also Quality Assurance and Student Experience Manager at King's College London (KCL) for the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience.  Here Steve played a key role in the introduction of KCL’s first distance learning programme as well as leading in student experience, quality assurance and student records for the Faculty. He was also Chair of the Programme Administration Network.

Steve's areas of expertise are in governance, registry, and quality assurance. He has led a number of successful change projects in various roles, is an experienced leader of large teams, and worked to deliver University strategic aims, always in a collaborative way.
