Javed Afridi is now the CEO of JW-SEZ Group, which includes companies like Haier Pakistan, MG Motors, Foton, Forland, Peshawar Zalmi, Zalmi Foundation, and several others.
He played an instrumental role in promoting cricket in Pakistan, especially when international it was banned. He, along with his team, improved the cricketing competence of Pakistan and brought international cricket back to the country. In fact, he's responsible for bringing several multinational companies to Pakistan.
He also plays a significant role in improving Pakistani exports and reducing the trade deficit. After enhancing the cricketing and manufacturing competence the country, he aims to broaden the vision and improve the skills development and overall competence of the youth of Pakistan and other developing countries. From that, Zalmi Foundation was born to deploy the popularity of sports in promoting and imparting 21st-century skills so they are ready and prepared for the challenges of tomorrow.
Javed Afridi is a visionary leader with an unparallelled work ethic. He's working relentlessly to revamp the traditional economy of Pakistan into a knowledge economy. In 2020, he was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz, the highest civilian award in Pakistan, for philanthropic activities and sports diplomacy.
