BBC drama Vigil, directed by Regent’s University London alumna, Isabelle Sieb, has received an Emmy nomination.
The series follows the mysterious disappearance of a Scottish fishing trawler and a death onboard a Trident nuclear submarine, which draws the police into conflict with the Navy and British security services.
Vigil has been nominated for an award in the Best Drama Series category, alongside two Netflix shows, Lupin and Narcos: Mexico, as well as South African thriller Reyka.
Isabelle, who graduated in 2013 from Regent’s with a BA (Hons) in Screenwriting & Producing, is a multi BAFTA and Royal Television Society Award-nominated film and television director.
In addition to directing Vigil, she was lead director for Sky One's The Athena, directed episodes of BBC One's hit show Shetland and is currently directing upcoming Amazon Prime Video series, The Devil’s Hour.
The Emmy Awards recognise and celebrate excellence within various areas of television and emerging media across the world. The awards for entertainment from outside of America are administered by the prestigious International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
Nominees were announced on 29 September 2022, with winners to be announced on 21 November 2022 at the 50th International Emmy Awards in New York City.
