Dr Diana Walford CBE to make donation

Following the Vice-Chancellor’s announcement that he will donate a percentage of his monthly salary back to the University, Chair of the Regent’s Board of Trustees, Dr Diana Walford CBE, has also been inspired to make a monthly contribution.

‘I was both touched and impressed by the news that the Vice-Chancellor will be donating 20% of his salary for the rest of the financial year to the University,’ commented Walford.

‘Geoff’s generosity and his obvious desire to continue to advance the mission of this great University has inspired me to follow his example. I will be making a regular monthly donation which will be allocated to the University’s area of greatest need during these challenging times.

‘I would encourage all those who are able: Trustees, staff, alumni, friends of the University, to do the same, to help build on the foundation of Geoff’s generous leading donation. I think we would all be surprised and delighted at the good that regular gifts, of whatever size, can do and how quickly they make a difference.

As a charity, the University is able to claim back an additional 25% of Dr Walford’s donations through the UK Government’s Gift Aid Scheme. Designating a donation as Gift Aid significantly enhances the impact of every gift, further compounding the benefits it delivers to the areas that need it most.
