Mahalia stuns crowds at Glastonbury in a dress hand crafted by a Regent's alumna

Second-year Fashion Design student Jana Spiekermann created an iconic dress for singer-songwriter Mahalia at Glastonbury.

Whilst interning with Tara Hakin, Jana made Mahalia’s outfit from scratch and worked towards bringing Tara’s design to life. As a pattern and construction intern, Jana cut, sewed and constructed the patterns of the outfit and created Mahalia’s outfit through multiple design fittings and amendments.

Tara Hakin is a fashion designer whose work focuses on women's empowerment. Her brand is known for its tactile and sensual garments designed to emphasise the body’s natural shape. Hakin’s pieces have been seen on artists at the forefront of pop culture, including Kourtney Kardashian and Jorja Smith.

Congratulations to Jana for such an amazing achievement.
