Regent’s Screenwriting & Producing alumna and BAFTA-nominated director, Isabelle Sieb, has landed another noteworthy directing role for the upcoming Amazon thriller series, The Devil’s Hour.

Her latest project follows the story of Lucy Chambers – played by Call the Midwife’s Jessica Raine, who repeatedly wakes up at 3.33 am every night with terrifying visions. In folklore, 3am-4am is typically referred to as the Devil’s hour, where dark supernatural activity is said to be at its peak. The series will also star Doctor Who actor, Peter Capaldi, who plays a ‘reclusive nomad’ with a crazed obsession that ends up with him on the run from the police.

Isabelle Sieb, Director for film and TV said: ‘I’m very excited to be joining the brilliant people at Hartswood Films and Amazon Studios to direct Tom Moran's beautifully twisted thriller The Devil’s Hour and to be working with this utterly phenomenal cast!’

Since graduating from Regent's in 2013, Isabelle has worked as the lead director on Sky One’s The Athena, BBC One’s hit show Shetland and the high-profile BBC One drama Vigil.

Regent’s Screenwriting & Producing degree offers students the extensive training needed to break into the television and film industry, from creative writing to fundraising, promotion and distribution. Isabelle advises students interested in pursuing a career in Screenwriting and Producing to: ‘Have confidence in yourself – even when it’s hard, you have to keep going. In the film & TV industry, the more work you put in, the more doors will open.’

The Devil’s Hour will air on Amazon Prime Video in 2022 as a six-part series produced by Hartswood Films – producers of BBC Ones Dracula and Sherlock.
