Phoebe Jones, a Regent's alumna who graduated in 2018 with a first-class degree in BA (Hons) Interior Design, has been shining bright in the world of jewellery design.
Phoebe was awarded the Greenough Trophy at the Jewellery Education Awards in March 2023. Awarded by the National Association of Jewellers since 1946, this prestigious award marks skill, dedication and hard work and is presented to the student who achieves the highest aggregate marks on their JET project. Having completed the most outstanding project in the Professional Jewellers' Diploma, Phoebe received the honours for the 2022 award.
After studying on the BA (Hons) Interior Design at Regent’s, Phoebe started working at Harrington Brookshaw Jewellers in September 2019, where she studied JET alongside working in the shop.
Phoebe said: ‘I absolutely loved my time at Regent’s. From the moment I entered my interview for the course I knew, the course leaders were so passionate, they made me realise I really wanted to be there. The contact time with people who really know the industry is unmatched in the design world.
'When I left Regent's I wanted to carry on my journey as a designer, and I originally looked towards becoming a graphic designer – it tied in with skills I’d learned at Regent's really well – then this opportunity unexpectedly came up in the world of jewellery. I was intrigued, I wanted to get some experience, and then realised I was in over my head and there was a lot to learn! I also immediately fell in love with it. It's an absolute honour to have won the Greenough Trophy and to be recognised for my dedication and hard work in the industry.'
