Regent's alumni Grace Owusu Agyemang and Khudija Zaib launch their fashion label DIJÁGO.
DIJÁGO is a fusion of Pakistani, Ghanaian and South African heritage held by the preservation of craftsmanship, trust and elegance. An Afro-Asian luxury clothing, accessories and footwear label inspired by the beauty of culture, the rarity of trust and the language of elegance. Deeply rooted in traditional South-Asian and African craftsmanship, the label presents a new kind of luxury – one that champions artisans of the east by giving their work the respect and spotlight long dominated by their western counterparts.
Grace and Khudija said: 'We established DIJÁGO in August 2022 after graduating in July, when we realised we wanted to start a brand together. The differences and similarities in our personalities and cultures is what fused us together. Our love for luxury design, craftsmanship and detail is what strengthened the bond to produce DIJÁGO, an amalgamation of our names.'
Styling actress Sarah Niles
In February 2023, Khudija and Grace designed a bespoke gown for actress Sarah Niles (Ted Lasso, I May Destroy You), which she wore to the British Vogue and Tiffany & Co Celebrate Fashion & Film party.
On working with the actress, the designers said: 'It felt really incredible to see our work on British Vogue and on the red carpet. This opportunity came really quick as we were approached by stylist Rebekah Roy during our first debut collection showcase at Pure London. We had two days to pull this bespoke look off and it was fun to have Ted Lasso actress, Sarah Niles, come to our studio in Marble Arch for fittings before the red carpet event.'
Congratulations to Grace and Khudija on their accomplishments.
