Regent’s lecturer among first Uncertain Kingdom development fund recipients

Fulfilment, an elevated horror feature script written by Regent’s Screenwriting Lecturer, Ted Wilkes, has been awarded one of the first awards from The Uncertain Kingdom Development Fund.

In collaboration with Picturehouse Entertainment, The Uncertain Kingdom Development Fund supports filmmakers with an agenda as strong as their vision, and projects that interrogate British culture; asking who we are, how we got here or where we are going.

Wilkes’s feature script was recently optioned by BAFTA nominated production company Adrimages UK (God’s Own Country) and deals with the twenty-first century nightmare of zero hours contracts that are common practice in many sectors across the UK.

The script follows main character, Abbie, who out of desperation must take on a role as a seasonal associate for a large e-commerce brand. In the shadows of the night shift lurk terrifying creatures, feasting on the flesh of the workers who can’t make quota. Slowly Abbie relishes morphing into one of them.

Speaking about the news, Ted Wilkes said: ‘It’s brilliant to see that The Uncertain Kingdom have responded to Fulfilment in the way they have, and I look forward to working with them moving forward with the project.’
