Regent’s outlines plan for returning to campus in September 2021

Regent’s University London has announced its intention to return to teaching on campus, in the heart of London, from September 2021.

The announcement comes after the UK Government confirmed that universities in England could fully reopen from 17 May 2021.

Vice-Chancellor & CEO, Professor Geoff Smith, said: ‘Our community is centred on our campus in the heart of London. It’s the place we connect, learn, develop, and inspire each other. London is our classroom, so I’m delighted to be planning face-to-face teaching and activities on campus from September.’

Since the start of COVID-19, the team at Regent’s has worked quickly to respond to the challenges of the pandemic and has delivered quality online learning for all students. Regent's has already started implementing a phased return to life on campus, in accordance with UK Government guidelines.

In March, students on creative courses such as Film & Screen and Fashion Design, were invited to access facilities for practical parts of their degree. From early May, students have also been able to use the on-campus Library and other spaces to study for their assessments.

Over the coming months, students will be provided with further information on what teaching and the campus experience will look like at Regent’s, as the UK Government clarifies its plans for the coming academic year. The team at Regent’s will provide support for students as they transition from online learning back to being on campus.

The beautiful campus in Regent’s Park is within easy reach of London’s famous business districts, theatres, galleries and museums. As London reopens, Regent’s students will benefit from the strong ties to industry and the creative sector and will once again be able to undertake placements and internships.
