Students say why they chose Regent’s

As UCAS Clearing begins, our students share why they chose to study at Regent’s University London.

We still have places available in Clearing for Autumn 2020. Apply for your place in a practical, globalised course at Regent's University London.

Go with your heart – Simran's Clearing story

An increasing number of students are applying through the UK’s UCAS Clearing system including Simran Shokar from Essex. She had originally planned to study film production at another university, but changed her mind at the last minute.

'On the day that I received my A-level results, I suddenly got cold feet and felt that this was what I wanted to do,' said Simran.

'I realised that what I really wanted to do was write. I heard about Regent’s and arranged to have an interview to study screenwriting and producing. I knew immediately after this interview that this was what I wanted to study and where I wanted to be – Regent’s!'

Simran contacted the University during Clearing and was given an interview with the Head of Drama, Film and Media.

'I am really happy here. The tutors on the course are fantastic. Phil Hughes is exceptional and has encouraged me to develop my creativity. Tristan Tull has made me feel comfortable with other students and helped me to get involved.'

Asked for her advice for students receiving their A level results on Thursday, Simran replied: 'When you get your results, go with your heart – not what it says on paper. If you feel you’ve made the wrong decision then trust your instincts and don’t look back.'

Simran is definitely not alone in loving this unique university with a beautiful campus located in the heart of London in royal Regent’s Park. Our students say they love the fantastic location, the personal tuition, family atmosphere, first-class teaching, and chance to meet and make friends with people from 140 nationalities.

Natasha Khan studied her BA (Hons) Media and Communications, and says Regent's was the ideal place to realise her dreams:

'London is a global media hub and home to so many advertising agencies, production companies, publishing offices. I love studying at Regent's because I can see so much of it happen first-hand. Plus, studying in such a small campus makes each lecture and seminar feel personal, as though you're studying with family.

Luise designed her degree, her way

'Besides its unique location in beautiful Regent’s Park, Regent's offers a boutique-style education, with the chance to truly “design” my own degree, taking classes from many different fields. It's a unique experience that I would not have had anywhere else,' said Luise Hasse, a BA (Hons) Liberal Arts graduate.

Odah followed her dreams

'The best thing about this University is that you find people from all sorts of cultures and religions and backgrounds,' said Odah, who is studying fashion marketing.

She also said it is the place to realise your dreams: 'This is your chance to just do everything, to just embrace yourself – if it's what you're interested in just do it!'

Luca's advice: Challenge yourself

MA Management graduate Luca added: 'I have to say it has been a great experience and it has really enriched my life. Be ready to be changed for – in my opinion – the better.'

We still have a limited number of places available in Clearing for a range of inspiring, industry-focused undergraduate degrees for Autumn 2020.
