StudentSpace offers support to students

Regent's has teamed up with new online platform Student Space, run by the UK's student mental health charity Student Minds

Student Space offers information and support to all higher education students during the current Coronavirus pandemic, including:

  • Access to free, confidential, anonymous, support over the phone or via text
  • Free wellbeing information and tools (articles, webinars, blog posts)
  • Information on the support available at specific universities, including Regent's

Phone support

If you'd like to speak with someone over the phone (for example about anxiety, loneliness, depression, grief or relationship issues) call for free on 0808 189 5260, between 4pm and 11pm, and a trained helpline supporter will provide you with the time, support and tools that will help you to move forward.

Text support

If you'd prefer to speak to someone via text, simply text 'STUDENT' to 85258. It’s free, confidential and anonymous with no app or data required and no lengthy registration process.

Student Space support

You’ll get a prompt asking you to explain what’s troubling you and then you’ll receive four automated messages before you're connected with someone who will listen without judgement. This will usually be within five minutes but can take slightly longer.

The volunteer will introduce themselves via text before listening, reflecting on what you’re experiencing and identifying tools and strategies that will help you through your moment of crisis. Towards the end of the conversation, the volunteer can provide signposting to services that provide further help and support. You can stop the chat at any time by sending the word ‘STOP’.

Wellbeing articles & webinars

From managing uncertainty during the pandemic to confidence, digital wellbeing, making friends, building a network and dealing with grief and loss, the website also offers a range of articles and webinars to get stuck into.
