Two programmes achieve 100% in the National Student Survey

Two of Regent’s University London’s creative programmes achieved 100% overall satisfaction in the 2019 National Student Survey (NSS) results, which were published last week. A further three received ratings of 90% or above.

The survey covered all undergraduate programmes taught at the University. Three programmes recorded particularly high results in overall satisfaction: 100% in BA (Hons) Interior Design, 100% in BA (Hons) Screenwriting & Producing, and 95.8% in BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing

The extremely high levels of satisfaction in BA (Hons) Screenwriting & Producing are particularly impressive, performing significantly above the average for the university sector and scoring almost 100% in all response areas.

William Harris, Head of Programmes for Film, Media and Performance commented: ‘The NSS result for BA (Hons) Screenwriting & Producing reflect what our students say to us throughout their time with us. Our students work exceptionally hard and their ambition is matched by the dedication of the academic team that works with them.

‘Not only do our students rate their experience highly, their work is rated very highly in prestigious international competitions around the world. The Screenwriting & Producing programme quietly achieves great outcomes with students and I congratulate Phil Hughes, Course Leader, and his team on a well-deserved NSS response from his students.’

Matching the 100% overall satisfaction was BA (Hons) Interior Design, which also performed highly across the board. Most notably in student voice, which at 98.0% satisfaction is 24.4% higher than the rest of the sector.

Laoura Englezou, Interior Design Course Leader, said: ‘We are delighted with this year’s NSS score of 100% overall satisfaction. Our students’ voice is of the utmost importance to us. They work together to raise the bar, challenge to achieve more and in that creative process, trust and recognise the efforts of our brilliant teaching team.

‘We are very proud of all our talented interior design students and their response is a testament that every year our ID programme is progressing. This is down to the dedication, commitment and support of the entire ID team and our Head of Programmes, Mark Eley, offering close, personal attention to the individual ambitions of our students.’

Another strong performer, overall satisfaction in BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing increased for a third consecutive year, from 80.0% in 2018 to 95.8% in 2019 – well above the benchmark of 82.4%.

Dennis Maloney, Fashion Marketing Course Leader, said: ‘The team and I are extremely thrilled and proud to learn of the results – this is a reflection of the dedication and commitment of all those involved with the BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing programme – academics, support staff and professional services alike.

‘We try our utmost to create an individually orientated learning environment that challenges yet supports our students to achieve their full potential, while being part of an extremely close-knit community.

‘I’d particularly like to congratulate the programme team for their passion and enthusiasm – which can be seen not only through these results, but also the successes of the programme and our students over the last academic year.’
