Overview
By leveraging the power of emerging technologies, business can become a driving force of change and innovation. If you desire to be a change agent, intent on developing, creating and disrupting business environments to reach next-level business innovation, this course is for you.
You’ll study the power of intelligent technologies to capture data, captivate audiences and respond to customer needs with hyper-personalisation – and learn how businesses can leverage these to gain competitive advantages and create powerful, immersive connections with their audiences.
Exploring technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Blockchain and the Internet of Things (IoT) you'll uncover how new solutions can create opportunities to monitor and analyse customer interactions in real time – potentially changing the way we live, communicate, think and work.
This course helps you to become:

Although this is a technology-driven course, you don’t need any prior technical knowledge.

How to apply
Applying to Regent's is quick and easy. We accept direct applications year-round and there's no application fee. If you haven't received your exam results, you can still apply and we'll issue you with a conditional offer. You just need be clear in your application which qualifications you're currently studying for.

During the application process, you'll have the chance to upload supporting documents, including:
- A copy of your passport (photograph ID page)
- Academic transcripts and certificates from all previous studies
- A 500-700 word personal statement (view guidance)
- If you're not a native English speaker, proof of your English proficiency (take our test)
Credit transfer
If you’ve already studied part of your degree elsewhere, you may be able to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and join your new course at an advanced entry point. To apply for RPL, you'll need to state this clearly in your application and provide us with the certificates, transcripts and module descriptions for your previous course.
Step 2: Receive a response
You can expect to receive a decision on your application within 10 working days. We'll assess whether you meet our entry requirements and will notify you of our decision via email. UCAS applicants will also receive official notification via the UCAS system.
For some of our courses, the selection process may include an interview or audition. They can take the form of a one-to-one interview, a group interview or a portfolio review, which may be conducted by telephone or online. Arrangements of these are made between you and the Admissions department.
Step 3: Accept your offer
If you wish to accept your offer, you must pay your (non-refundable) advance tuition fee deposit. Here's how to pay. This will confirm your place.
Step 4: Register
Closer to the start of term, our Admissions team will send instructions regarding your registration process. This will include information on completing your online enrolment before you arrive, as well as a checklist of documents you'll need to bring with you to campus.

Fees
Tuition fee:
- £26,000 for the academic year starting in September 2024.
Non-refundable advance deposit:

If you receive an offer for a course, you’ll receive a pro forma invoice. To accept your offer and secure your place, pay your deposit payment as soon as possible.
The remaining portion of your first year’s tuition fees will be due when you enrol. At this time, you’ll receive your invoice for the full year. You can choose to pay for the year in full before the start of your first academic year or in two instalments, spread out across the academic year. The dates of these instalments will be determined by when your course starts.
What do fees include?
Fees cover the cost of all tuition and access to the University’s IT infrastructure and library learning resources. Fees are presented for the first level of study which equates to two terms.
What other costs should I budget for?
You will need to budget additional funds for accommodation and living expenses, travel, and any additional trips, visits, activities or courses that you choose to participate in outside of the tuition offered as part of your course.
The library holds a limited number of copies of core textbooks and where possible in e-format. You will be encouraged to purchase your own textbooks and will need to budget approximately £80-£100 per year, depending on your course.
Study Period Abroad (SPA)
Some programmes at Regent’s University London offer an optional or mandatory study period abroad, for one or two terms. No study period abroad can be undertaken in the United States.
A student who wishes to attend an “ineligible” school, which includes any school in the USA, will forfeit all funding from that semester going forward and all current loans will become due with immediate effect. For any questions regarding these terms and conditions, please email the US Loans Advisor at finance@regents.ac.uk. For questions regarding what an “eligible” or “deferment only” school is, please email Regent’s International Partnerships Office office on outbound@regents.ac.uk or finance@regents.ac.uk before you apply for a course with a study period abroad module.

We use active and collaborative learning, meaning you’ll always learn by doing – from taking part in tech labs and creative workshops to engaging with industry experts. It’s an experiential and experimental approach that presents you with real-life and real-world challenges, facilitating teamwork, entrepreneurship and use of technology to learn about compelling issues, propose solutions to real problems and take actions.
Based in London, you'll also have opportunities to meet employers through guest lectures, live briefs, field trips and industry visits – giving you insights into the world of business and enabling you to put theory into practice.
Contact hours: You'll have a minimum of 14 hours of direct contact time for the first two terms. Term 3 is dedicated to your major project. Direct taught hours represent approximately 16% and self-directed learning 84%.
Teaching staff
You'll be taught by a variety of business leaders and research-active academics, who regularly have work published in journals, speak at conferences and collaborate with institutions, such as BBC News. Their knowledge and experience ensure your classes are shaped by the most current industry practices.
You'll also be allocated a personal tutor, who'll meet you on a one-to-one basis at various stages throughout the year to provide you with guidance and advice to support your personal and professional development.

Independent learning
Throughout the course, you'll be expected to undertake extra reading, research, revision and reflection, as well as preparing work for workshops, and working collaboratively with other students in preparation for assessment.
Method of assessment
Your skills and knowledge will be assessed via a wide range of task-based projects, reports, presentations and live and simulated briefs – as well as essays, case study analysis and reflective portfolios. It's important to us that your learning and assessment is:

Academic requirements
We're interested in your potential, as well as your prior achievements – and review each application comprehensively on its own merit.
Minimum entry requirements for Level 7 – you'll need one of the following qualifications:
- Minimum second class UK undergraduate degree
- Equivalent international qualifications, as deemed acceptable by Regent's
We also welcome applications from students who don't meet our entry requirements. In order to be accepted for exceptional entry, you must:
- Have one year of work experience (if you hold a degree lower than a 2:2)
- Have three years of work experience (if you don't hold a degree)
- Provide a 500-700 word personal statement outlining your reasons for applying, and how your previous experience is of relevance to the programme you are applying for
- Be prepared to attend an interview with the Postgraduate Admissions Panel
- Provide evidence of your English language proficiency
This will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by academic referral only.

Decentralised Technologies | In this module, you will explore the fast-changing field of decentralised technologies, including distributed ledger technology, peer-to-peer, consensus algorithms, smart contracts and digital currencies. From understanding how blockchain can be used to secure the supply chain to web applications and wearable technology, you will consider the implications for the business world and individuals. You will be introduced to the concepts behind these technologies, learn how they’re applied in both public and private sectors and consider best practices for building a secure, decentralised system. You will also explore the impact of decentralised systems and the role of trust, ownership, security, regulation and implementation. By the end of the module, you will understand how we can use decentralised technologies in applications such as Web3, to better address key issues in current and future social and business problems. Drawing on this, you will develop and propose your own approach to decentralised business models, entrepreneurship and monetisation. |
Intelligent Technologies | Intelligent technologies are increasingly important in the business world – from automated solutions that optimise business operations to real-time data analytics for dynamic responses and advanced audience profiling. In this module, you will learn how Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, deep learning and the Internet of Things (IoT) can be used through intelligent applications to analyse business performance, support insight-led decision making and predictive models, inform new product development, assist cybersecurity and drive innovative solutions. You will explore the emerging fields of generative AI (GenAI), speech and image recognition and the intelligent edge and learn about the potential of emerging technologies to deliver hyper-personalised, human-centric content with ethical considerations. Using a practical, hands-on approach, you will work on intelligent tools and platforms to produce content, obtain intelligence, develop resources and analyse the business landscape. The Future of Business Innovation Technologies | This module provides an overview of how emerging technologies can enable businesses to evolve and grow through innovation, in order to secure future success. Technological advancements are impacting every aspect of how we live, work, communicate and socialise. You will learn how these technologies work together to envision unique solutions that seamlessly link the real world to digital platforms. From creating digital experiences using virtual and augmented content, securing the supply chain, authenticating and rewarding through decentralised systems, to utilising real-time dynamic insights to analyse customer behaviour, you will explore the opportunities emerging technologies provide, and learn how they are poised to disrupt and innovate. In an experiential way, you will review applications such as Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT) and virtual and augmented reality and explore how they’re used and the skills needed to extract maximum value. In all, you’ll learn how to successful deliver digital transformation and global creative leadership on a global stage. |
Final Major Project | The Final Major Project is the culmination of your masters course. You will integrate and apply the knowledge, experiences and thinking you have developed in your course to a project that you conceive and design. Your project should ideally be focused on your next professional steps – it can form part of your portfolio as you move towards work, further study or setting up a new business. It may be based on conducting research, solving a practical problem, or creating an artefact – or it may be a combination of all three. Whichever approach you choose, you will critically record and reflect on your intellectual, creative and investigative processes in detail. While you’ll have the support of your course tutors and an academic supervisor, as a Postgraduate student you’ll be expected to develop and prove your ability to operate independently in both academic and professional settings. |
