Political Scientist
Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, Tre' Shawn gained a passion for social history and politics. He moved to London, England, to pursue his love of history and diplomacy and he earned his Bachelor's degree in Political Science, with a minor in History.
In 2015 Tre' Shawn moved to the Netherlands where he made his home with his husband and beaglier, Charlee Waffles. In 2020, he earned his Master's Degree in Museology (Museum Studies) after completing his thesis on Roman Narratives in Dutch Museums.
Tre' Shawn previously served two terms as national Secretary for Democrats Abroad, Netherlands, where he helped to increase overseas voter turn-out, lead internal development and handled media inquiries. In 2021, he was elected Chair of the national organisation, where he committed to continue to grow voter engagement of overseas Americans, and advocate for their interests in Washington, D.C.
He's also a subsitute teacher at an International School in the Hague. In his free time he can be found in a museum or with a good book and a glass of Chardonnay.
