From a young age, Mia has been interested in interior design and the way in which it impacts its users. Having both Danish and Japanese heritage, she has grown up surrounded by a mixture of Scandinavian and Asian interiors. This contrast of cultures has greatly influenced her perspective on space and design.

‘Studying at Regent’s has really helped to spark my creativity, and develop the vital design knowledge and computer skills needed to become an interior designer. You're also taught by the most inspiring and passionate tutors, who really motivate you to challenge yourself every day, and know how to bring out your unique creativity and make it shine.’’

‘At Regent’s, you get to study in an international environment that really inspires you and stimulates your creative outlook. Almost everyone in my class comes from a different background so you get to learn from each other as well the city of London itself. The sources of inspiration at Regent’s never seem to end.’

Since starting university, Mia has already gained some great practical experience including a summer internship at a Japanese architectural studio.

‘My internship was the best experience not only because I gained industry practice but also because it made me realise how I’d like to work as a designer and where my true passion lies within the industry.’
