Natalie Wong, a BA (Hons) Fashion Design (Marketing) alumna, has had her graduate collection featured in View Two magazine, a highly influential trend publication.
Steven Dell, Course Leader, commented on the feature and about Natalie’s time at Regent’s:
‘Natalie has always enjoyed being challenged to develop her individual sense of creativity and define her signature style.
‘The culmination of this highly personalised learning experience and Natalie’s sheer ambition and technical ingenuity has resulted in a truly exceptional menswear graduate collection, inspired by her cultural heritage and the Hong Kong protests.
‘We are so pleased that Natalie’s vision and talents have recently been acknowledged in one of the world’s leading fashion trend publications as part of a graduate talent feature in View Two magazine.
‘It’s a wonderful accomplishment, which will provide Natalie with the opportunity to promote her work to the global fashion industry. Natalie Wong is certainly a talent to look out for in the future.’
Natalie, who graduated earlier this year, has previously spoken about her graduate collection:
'My whole time at Regent’s led to one thing: my graduate collection, which is based on the protests happening in Hong Kong, where I was born. I wanted to create something that showed my life story and who I am as a person.’
She also wrote about about her experience designing the collection during lockdown:
'My whole degree as a fashion student is practical, and this presents a real challenge when working from home. But our tutors and lecturers are always there for us – whenever I send a text or email, they’ll reply. We’re all in this together.
'We’ll always be known as the class who worked through COVID-19. It’s a challenge, but it’s one that will teach us skills for the future. Hopefully now we’re going through this, we’ll be prepared for anything!'
The feature in View Two magazine comes after Natalie was selected as one of twenty ‘one-to-watch' graduates by ShowStudio.
