Mark Carney
Mark Carney, Governor of the Bank of England is Chair of the Monetary Policy Committee, Financial Policy Committee and the Board of the Prudential Regulation Authority.
He is also Chairman of the Financial Stability Board (FSB), First Vice-Chair of the European Systemic Risk Board, a member of the Group of Thirty and the Foundation Board of the World Economic Forum.
He has degrees from Harvard and Oxford Universities. Following a long career in Goldman Sachs worldwide, he became Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada and subsequently Senior Associate Deputy Canadian Minister of Finance.
Dom Laurence Freeman OSB
Laurence is a Benedictine monk and the Director of Meditatio and of The World Community of Christian Meditation, an ecumenical community, which has over 3000 weekly worldwide groups in more than 100 countries.
Before entering monastic life, he worked in banking, journalism and at the United Nations. He has supported meditation as part of daily life in many fields including schools and universities, healthcare, business, prisons, and multi-cultural organisations working for peace and justice.
Professor Aldwyn Cooper
Aldwyn Cooper is Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive Regent’s University London, a private, not for profit higher education university with a very strong global commitment.
Aldwyn is a cognitive psychologist by background, he has worked in many universities and business schools in the UK and Europe, former Pro Vice Chancellor at the University of Glamorgan, he was in television for ten years as managing director of Workhouse and involved also with many blue-chip companies on e-learning, culture change and communications.
Sean Hagan
Sean Hagan is General Counsel and Director of the Legal Department at the International Monetary Fund. In this capacity, he advises the Fund’s management, Executive Board and membership on all legal aspects of the Fund’s operations, including its regulatory, advisory and lending functions.
Sean Hagan has published extensively on both the law of the Fund and a broad range of legal issues relating to the prevention and resolution of financial crisis, with an emphasis on insolvency and the restructuring of debt, including sovereign debt. Prior to beginning work at the IMF, he was in private practice, first in New York and subsequently in Tokyo.
Sean received his Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center and also received a Master’s of Science in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
