Two new scholarships launched in partnership with Regent's alumni

Felicia Hjertman and Gabriela Hersham, graduates who are now CEOs of their own businesses, are partnering with Regent's and ICET to offer two new scholarships. These will enable students to access the same Regent's journey that led them to success.

Regent’s University London is proud to announce two prestigious new scholarships available for students on business and entrepreneurship degrees. The scholarships are generously offered by Regent's in partnership with the Inner Circle Education Trust, together with Tillit and Huckletree – two platforms that were founded by Regent’s graduates Felicia Hjertman and Gabriela Hersham.

The Tillit Scholarship will support students applying to the BSc (Hons) Business, Technology and Entrepreneurship, while the Huckletree Scholarship is for students applying to the BA (Hons) International Business degree.

Who are the founders?

Felicia Hjertman, Founder & CEO of Tillit

Felicia Hjertman, Founder and CEO of investment platform Tillit. Hertman is a white woman with blonde hair. She is looking at the camera and smiling.

Felicia Hjertman graduated from Regent’s BA (Hons) International Business in 2011. She launched Tillit, a DIY investment platform at the forefront of fintech, in November 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tillit was born out of the founder's personal frustration with the platforms available to individuals for investing their savings. Her business fills a gap in the market for platforms which give users autonomy over their investments, empowering people to invest with confidence, conviction and ease in funds handpicked by experts.

Felicia is thrilled to be launching a scholarship in collaboration with Regent’s, her former university. Thanks to the financial support offered by the scholarship, students will be able to access Regent’s entrepreneurially focused degree programme. The Business, Technology and Entrepreneurship degree develops professional skills in effective negotiation, collaboration, generating and pitching ideas, whilst honing students' personal leadership style.

Felicia Hjertman said: “Exceptional entrepreneurs come from all walks of life, and we are honoured to be able to support high-potential students through the Tillit Scholarship to hopefully one day become the technology and business entrepreneurs of our future.”

Gabriela Hersham, Founder & CEO of Huckletree

Gabriela Hersham, Regent's alumna and founder of Huckletree. She is a brown skinned woman with dark brown hair, and she is looking directly at the camera and smiling.

Gabriela Hersham graduated from Regent’s BA (Hons) International Business programme in 2006. She co-founded Huckletree in 2014, one of the UK and Ireland’s leading workspace brands.

Huckletree houses and accelerates over 500 entrepreneurial companies across six themed spaces, from mission driven start-ups and venture-backed businesses to challenger brands and corporate innovation teams. Their vision is to build the home of innovation and impact for every industry, from food tech to fintech, by creating the right collaborative environments for them to work, grow and thrive.

Gabriela feels that the scholarship reflects values that were instilled in her during her time spent studying at Regent’s. She is passionate about nurturing and developing talent within a supportive and collaborative environment, and together with Regent’s offers the Huckletree scholarship to develop tomorrow’s best global and entrepreneurial leaders.

Gabriela Hersham said: “The lessons and principles I learned through the International Business degree at Regent’s were foundational in how I went out to set up my business in the early days, and even now, I still revisit the concepts that we debated in the classroom, from leading through uncertainty to analysing the unit economics of a new business unit – all of it still stays with me.”

Developing tomorrow’s global leaders

Regent’s is an institution known for developing forward-thinking leaders who go on to make waves in their industries. In line with the University’s entrepreneurial focus, beneficiaries of the scholarship will receive a practical experience of working in a business, alongside courses which develop skills in personal leadership, the value of social capital at work and cultivating a growth mindset.

Both scholarships are offered in partnership with an additional bursary from the Inner Circle Educational Trust (ICET), a London-based charity for the advancement of education for the public benefit. With funding from the Galileo Global Education Group, it provides bursaries for living costs and non-fee expenditure to support the education of students at Regent’s University London.

Applications are open to prospective students for the BSc (Hons) Business, Technology and Entrepreneurship, or BA (Hons) International Business. The deadline for scholarship applications is 29 July.
