Volunteering month - Regent's Helping Hands!

In partnership with Time and Talents, Regent's encourages as many staff as possible to participate in helping the local community, as well as participating in Outreach activities during July's volunteering month.

A new initiative to strengthen the impact of our employees’ volunteering efforts, Helping Hands runs for the entire month of July, encouraging staff to take advantage of the two paid days a year to volunteer in the local community.

Regent's Helping Hands Staff Volunteering Month July 2018

From gardening at a charitable housing association, running a book drive in some of the most disadvantaged areas of London, to supporting a breakfast service at St Peter's Church for members of the community who struggle with poverty, homelessness, or are physically unable to shop or cook, there are many ways in which staff can give back.

Founded in 1887 to support the people of Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, today Time & Talents runs targeted projects working with people with high levels of need such as isolated elderly people and disabled groups, and universal wider activities and events designed to create a happy, healthy, connected community. We believe that fun, friendships, and mutual support make a happier, healthier community where everyone is included.

As a registered charity, Regent's ethos is to work for the better of the community - to act for the public benefit. Staff can also spend a day working with the Marylebone Project painting offices, hostel rooms and communal areas of a facility which provides 112 beds to homeless women, or spend the day organising a sports day with One Westminster for a learning disability group to help them develop their teamwork skills.
