Regent’s hosts top university challenge

Regent’s University London will be the venue for two important student events when it hosts the Universities Business Challenge Worldwide (UBC WW) in 2020.

UBC WW is the world’s longest established simulation-based competition designed to help develop students’ employability, enterprise and entrepreneurial skills at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels.

Supported by Regent’s and other leading UK universities and graduate employers, more than 30,000 students have benefitted from the challenge since it was founded in 1998.

UBC WW is a simulation-based event in which teams of up to five students act as a board of directors and take responsibility for improving the performance of a realistic but fictional company.

They need to consider not only the financial performance of the company, but also its responsibilities to its various stakeholders including its suppliers, its customers and its employees.

Teams from across the UK have competed against each other in Round 1 and the top twelve will be competing at the Grand Final.

Teams are ranked on the financial and non-financial performance of their company and each round is highly competitive.

The first round is hosted online, and winning teams are invited to live one-day semi-finals and grand finals, two of which are taking place at Regent's Park campus.
